About our keynote speakers

Imam Muhsin Hendricks

Muhsin Hendricks is an Islamic Scholar with a background in Classical Arabic and Islamic Studies obtained at the University of Islamic Studies, Karachi Pakistan (1990-1994). Imam Muhsin is the founder of the Inner Circle in South Africa. He runs the People’s mosque, a gay friendly mosque in Cape Town.

Sekneh Beckett

Sekneh Beckett is an internationally recognized Psychologist, an honorary associate at Macquarie University and a consultant psychologist at Twenty10.  Currently, Sekneh works in private practice providing therapy, consultancy, teaching and supervision. When not immersed in the therapeutic space, she is engaged in community advocacy roles. 

Imam Nur Warsame

Imam Nur Warsame is Australia’s first openly gay Imam. He earned his religious credentials from Egypt and memorized the Quran in South Africa. He is the founder of Marhaba Inc. an organization that focuses on the welfare of LGBTIQ+ Muslims and also conducts workshops and talks to LGBT groups nationally and internationally.
